Round Table Pizza Made the Old-Fashioned Way
If you’re looking for great-tasting pizza made the old-fashioned way, stop by Round Table Pizza Kailua in the Enchanted Lake Shopping Center. Since 1984, owner John Parker and his crew have been offering patrons a satisfying dining experience at the popular family-style pizza restaurant, making quality and customers their top priorities.
What makes Round Table different from the major pizza chains? “We make our sauces fresh from scratch every day, make our dough here twice daily, grate our own cheeses and use the best meats and freshest vegetables and toppings,” says John, a former restaurant manager and real estate broker. “It’s all about quality, quality, quality.”
Known as the “last honest pizza,” Round Table prides itself on cooking pizzas in the traditional manner, using deck ovens to retain moisture and keep the crust crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. With more than 30 toppings, five different sauces (zesty red, creamy garlic, pesto, tangy Polynesian and BBQ), a blend of mozzarella, provolone and cheddar cheeses, and original thin or pan crusts, they offer a varied selection of first-rate specialty pizzas to please all tastes.
Most popular is King Arthur’s Supreme, a combination pizza with zesty red sauce, three cheeses, pepperoni, Italian sausage, Italian dry salami, linguica (Portuguese sausage), mushrooms, green peppers and black olives. Anchovies are optional! Other popular pizzas are Italian Garlic and Chicken & Garlic Supreme.
They offer veggie options, too. Try their award-winning Gourmet Veggie with creamy garlic sauce, three cheeses, artichoke hearts, zucchini, spinach, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, red and green onions, Italian herb seasoning and chopped garlic. Or Guinevere’s Garden Delight, made with zesty red sauce, three cheeses, Roma tomatoes, bell peppers. mushrooms, yellow onions and black olives.
`We’re always introducing new specialty pies,” says John. -We’ve even added a new topping, Primo Pepperoni, which is spicier and meant to `broke da mouth.”‘ Check out their new Wombo Combo – primo pepperoni, Italian sausage, crisp bacon, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, artichoke hearts and green onions. For meat lovers, you have to try their new Ulti-Meat, a flavorful mix of primo pepperoni, Italian sausage, sugar-cured bacon and Linguica.
Want to create your own pizza? Customize one just the way you like it at Round Table Pizza Kailua. Simply choose a crust and pick a pizza sauce. We add the three cheeses and you add the toppings.
Be sure to make it a meal with their selection of appetizers, salads, beer and wine. They also serve specialty sandwiches. “We have enough variety for everyone,” adds John.
Delivery is not available, but you can dine-in or take-out. “Our restaurant is meant for you to come in, sit down and relax. You’ll also get your pizza fresh and right out of the oven,” says John. The family-friendly restaurant even has a jukebox and video games to add to your dining experience.
Round Table Kailua has a separate party room available for your use.
“We have a lot of birthday parties, sports team gatherings and community meetings held here. In Kailua, people get involved and give a lot of support to teams and businesses,” says John, who, though born and raised in Wahiawa, moved to Kailua 20 years ago. “That’s what Kailua is all about. It’s a wonderful community with its own identity, and a good place to raise a family.”
“Its gratifying to make something of quality that’s well-received and to see the customers walk away satisfied.”
